Lifestyles & Counselling Program

It takes courage to ask for help.

The Circle Project’s Lifestyles and Counselling Program was created to help people achieve a healthy positive lifestyle and to reduce the harm related to drug and alcohol problems.

Many people struggling with chemical dependencies want to change, but don’t know where to start. The Circle Project uses various methods to help people overcome their addictions, including one-to-one counseling, administration, and clinical interpretation of the Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory (SASSI).

One-to-one counselling is an essential component to an individual’s healing journey. We must first acknowledge our past before we can create the brighter future we envision. Through one-to-one counseling, individuals are able to work through past traumas that led them on the path of dysfunctional living.

Community public education lectures and presentations on drugs and alcohol give staff the opportunity to connect with individuals out in the community where participants may feel the most comfortable. Circle Project staff also deliver free community presentations on addictions, recovery, and relapse, another way to help others take the first important step on the road to healing — finding a better way of thinking and living.

If it were not for my addiction, I would still be working. I once held a good paying job and I felt really good about myself. It’s going to be a long road back after living through abuse and addiction. —AB

I will attend because it’s inspiring to know you can always change a negative life into a positive one no matter what the circumstances are. —TS
